Durga Puja Symbolises Triumph of Dharma over Adharma: Telangana Governor
The Governor, accompanied by his wife Janaki Shukla, attended the Durga Puja celebrations organised by the Bangiya Sanskritik Sangha at Keyes Girls High School in Secunderabad.
Congratulating the Sangha on organising the festival for the 61st consecutive year, Shukla said the longstanding tradition reflected India’s rich cultural heritage and spiritual faith.
He said Goddess Durga represented courage, compassion, integrity and justice.
The belief in Sanatana Dharma that the Goddess resides in all living beings as the embodiment of Shakti underscored the need to respect the dignity and divinity inherent in every individual, he added.
The Governor appreciated the Sangha’s efforts to preserve Bengali culture, literature and traditions while fostering links with Telangana’s Telugu cultural heritage.
India’s diverse cultural traditions were a source of national strength, and such celebrations reinforced the spirit of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat, he said.
Shukla wished people happiness, peace, prosperity and good health on the occasion and expressed hope that the country would continue to progress and contribute to the welfare of humanity.
Cultural programmes organised as part of the celebrations were attended by a large gathering of devotees.
Bangiya Sanskritik Sangha president Deepak Bhattacharjee, vice-president Abhijit Bhattacharjee, general secretary Subrata Ganguly and other members participated in the event.
