Dalmia Bharat lays foundation for Rs 3,100-Cr cement plant in Andhra’s Kadapa

Kadapa (Andhra Pradesh), July 15 (TNT): Dalmia Bharat Limited, one of India’s pioneering cement companies headquartered in New Delhi, on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for its second manufacturing unit in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, with an investment of ₹3,100 crore.

The foundation stone was laid by Andhra Pradesh Minister for Information Technology Nara Lokesh in the presence of Dalmia Bharat Managing Director and CEO Puneet Dalmia, senior government officials and company executives.

The upcoming integrated manufacturing facility, slated for commissioning in the third quarter of FY2027-28, will have a clinker production capacity of 6.1 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) and a cement manufacturing capacity of 9.6 MTPA, making it Dalmia Bharat’s largest integrated manufacturing unit in southern India.

In a release, the company said the plant will be designed to produce one of the world’s greenest cements and forms part of its expansion plans announced in 2025.

Speaking on the occasion, Lokesh said Dalmia Bharat’s continued investment reflected Andhra Pradesh’s growing reputation as an investment destination driven by sustainable industrialisation. He said the project would create employment, strengthen local communities and further boost the state’s industrial ecosystem.

Puneet Dalmia said Andhra Pradesh has been an integral part of the company’s growth journey for more than a decade and credited the state’s transparent governance, policy stability, infrastructure and ease of doing business for the fresh investment.

He said the new facility would support the company’s vision of low-carbon cement manufacturing while setting new benchmarks in efficiency and sustainability to meet the country’s future infrastructure requirements.

Dalmia Bharat said it would continue implementing its flagship CSR programmes, DIKSHa and Gram Parivartan, in the region with a focus on education, healthcare, skill development and community welfare.

The company added that the project is expected to create business opportunities for local MSMEs, transporters, contractors and service providers besides generating employment.
