Combined police teams conduct cordon and search operation in Kakinada
Kakinada, Aug 30 (TNT): Combined police teams, including the EAGLE team, conducted a cordon and search operation at the TIDCO housing complex under the jurisdiction of Port Police Station here on Sunday.
The operation was conducted under the instructions of Superintendent of Police Bindu Madhav and under the supervision of Additional SP Dr Mahanti Kishore Kumar. The teams were led by Port Police Station Inspector P Sunil Kumar.
As part of the operation, police searched the premises and questioned people found moving under suspicious circumstances. Persons with criminal backgrounds were also questioned to gather information regarding the possession, sale and transportation of ganja, drugs and other narcotic substances.
During inspections, police identified 25 motorcycles without valid documents, including registration certificates, driving licences and insurance papers. The vehicles were shifted to the police station for further action.
Inspector Sunil Kumar said the operation was aimed at identifying anti-social elements and curbing their activities, preventing the sale and transportation of ganja, drugs and other narcotic substances, ensuring public safety and monitoring the movement of suspicious persons.
Police advised the public to provide information about ganja-related activities by calling the toll-free number 1972. They also urged people to dial 112 for emergency assistance and 1930 for help in cases of cybercrime.
One Town Police Station Inspector M Nagadurgarao, Three Town Police Station Inspector KVS Satyanarayana, sub-inspectors, police personnel of various ranks and EAGLE team officials participated in the operation.
