CM Revanth Reddy Greets Telangana People on Vijayadashami
Hyderabad, Oct 19 (TNT): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday extended Vijayadashami greetings to the people of the state, highlighting the festival’s message of the triumph of good over evil and righteousness over injustice.
In his festive message, the Chief Minister said Dussehra held a special place in Telangana’s culture and traditions and imparted values such as courage, truth, righteousness, unity and self-confidence.
He called upon people to work towards building a society based on love, compassion, brotherhood and humanity by giving up negative traits such as ego, jealousy, hatred and injustice.
Revanth Reddy wished that Vijayadashami would bring joy, happiness and prosperity to every household and bless people with good health, wealth and success.
He said the auspicious occasion recalled the victory of Goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasura and Lord Rama over Ravana, symbolising the ultimate triumph of good over evil.
The Chief Minister also highlighted Telangana’s unique tradition of worshipping the Jammi tree and exchanging its leaves, considered symbolic of gold, with elders while seeking their blessings.
The custom, he said, reflected the importance of respecting elders and cherishing nature.
