CM Naidu Directs Speedy Execution of Amaravati Capital Works
Amaravati, July 28 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday directed officials and construction agencies to accelerate the execution of Amaravati capital city projects and ensure that all works are completed within the stipulated timelines.
Reviewing the progress of capital works with representatives of construction agencies at the State Secretariat, the Chief Minister said the guiding principles for Amaravati’s development should be speed, quality and timely completion.
While noting that the pace of work had improved, he stressed that execution needed to be further expedited.
Describing participation in Amaravati’s construction as a prestigious opportunity, Naidu urged contractors to execute the projects efficiently.
He assured them that the government would ensure adequate financial support and made it clear that delays in project execution would not be tolerated.
The Chief Minister reviewed the progress of 95 projects being taken up in Amaravati at an estimated cost of ₹50,999 crore.
He directed officials and contractors to achieve a minimum monthly work progress of 7.92 per cent and instructed all departments to work in close coordination to resolve issues relating to land acquisition, fund mobilisation, statutory approvals and project designs.
Naidu said Amaravati should be developed not merely as a cluster of 29 villages but as an integrated urban region along with Vijayawada and Guntur.
He directed that infrastructure planning and execution should reflect this broader vision.
The Chief Minister also stressed the need to increase green cover across the capital region alongside road infrastructure development and announced that he would personally monitor the progress of Amaravati projects on a regular basis.
