Centre to sanction another 6 lakh houses for AP : Union Minister Chouhan

Tenali(Andhra Pradesh), Oct 4 (TNT): Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday said the Centre would sanction another three lakh houses for Andhra Pradesh even before completion of the ongoing three lakh houses and promised an additional three lakh houses, taking the total commitment to nine lakh houses.

Addressing the gathering after laying the foundation for construction of three lakh houses across Andhra Pradesh under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) at Burripalem in Tenali constituency on Sunday, Chouhan said the Centre would extend full support to the development of Andhra Pradesh and appreciated the state government’s housing initiatives.

He said eligible farmers were receiving Rs 6,000 annually under the PM-KISAN scheme, while the Andhra Pradesh government was providing an additional Rs 14,000 under Annadata Sukhibhava, taking the total annual assistance to Rs 20,000 per farmer.

Chouhan said the Centre and the state government were working together for the development of Andhra Pradesh.

The programme was attended by Union Minister Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food & Civil Supplies Nadendla Manohar, elected representatives and senior officials.
