CDK Global appoints Sudhakar Ramakrishna as President, CEO

Hyderabad, Oct 6 (TNT) : CDK Global, an automotive retail software provider, has appointed technology veteran Sudhakar Ramakrishna as its president and CEO and a member of the company’s board of directors, effective October 5.

CDK Global Inc. is an American multinational corporation based in Austin, Texas.

Ramakrishna succeeds Brian MacDonald, who is retiring and will serve as a senior strategic advisor to Brookfield and CDK during the transition, the US based company said in a release..

Ramakrishna brings decades of experience in enterprise technology and software businesses across cloud, mobility, networking, security and collaboration.

He most recently served as president and CEO of SolarWinds and previously headed Pulse Secure.

He has also held senior leadership positions at Citrix, Polycom, Motorola, 3Com and U.S. Robotics.

Brookfield Private Equity Group Managing Partner and CDK board director Doug Bayerd said Ramakrishna’s technology leadership experience and track record in scaling innovation and customer-focused products would help CDK build on its transformation and advance its growth.

CDK has invested more than USD 500 million over several years to transform its platform from a system of record into a system of intelligence and engagement, the company said.

The company said its automotive-specific data, including 257 million unique customer IDs representing most US consumers and vehicles on its platform, provides a foundation for artificial intelligence, analytics and customer insights.

Ramakrishna said CDK had the scale, expertise and product capabilities to help automotive retailers derive greater value from its solutions.

He said his focus would be on customer value, innovation, disciplined execution and reliable delivery.
