BRS Working Prez KTR Seeks White Papers on 8,000 acres Sircilla Land, Development Ahead of CM’s Visit
Hyderabad, Sept 27 (TNT): BRS working president and Sircilla MLA K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) on Sunday demanded that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy release white papers on the alleged loss of 8,000 acres of government land and the development works undertaken in Sircilla ahead of his visit to the constituency.
Welcoming the Chief Minister’s visit, KTR said Revanth Reddy should address the concerns of the people and announce specific deadlines for fulfilling promises made to weavers, farmers, students, women and other sections. He alleged that the Congress government had failed to fulfil several of its promises nearly three years after assuming office.
On the land issue, KTR sought details of the Chief Minister’s claim that 8,000 acres of government land had been taken away in Sircilla and that 2,400 acres had been recovered.
He demanded that the government disclose the mandals, villages, survey numbers, extent of land and names of those involved.
If the allegations were true, the facts should be made public; otherwise, the Chief Minister should apologise to the people of Sircilla, he said.
Raising concerns over the handloom sector, KTR alleged that the Congress government had discontinued several government orders that had provided employment to weavers throughout the year under the previous BRS government.
He demanded payment of pending dues of ₹60 crore, restoration of the 10 per cent yarn subsidy and revival of the ₹5 lakh Weaver Insurance scheme.
He also called for the operationalisation of the Apparel Park and the 88-acre Weaving Park, along with the establishment of new industries to generate employment.
The government should announce timelines for allotting sheds and providing jobs to workers, he said.
On farmers’ issues, KTR demanded payment of pending Rythu Bharosa dues, implementation of the promised assistance of ₹15,000 per acre, completion of the ₹2 lakh farm loan waiver and restoration of Rythu Bima.
He also sought clear timelines for irrigation works from Malkapet to Upper Manair.
Regarding education and employment, he sought funds for the JNTU Engineering College, clearance of pending bills under the Mana Ooru–Mana Badi programme, establishment of new industries and measures to strengthen the Aqua Hub and Food Processing Zone.
KTR further demanded the implementation of welfare promises, including monthly assistance of ₹2,500 to women, increased pensions, Tula gold under the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme, fee reimbursement, scooters for students and annual assistance of ₹12,000 to auto drivers.
He also sought a white paper detailing development works undertaken in Sircilla since the Congress government assumed office, including expenditure incurred, pending works and proposed projects.
KTR said the Chief Minister should respond to the questions raised by Sircilla residents and announce specific dates for implementing the promises made to them.
