BJP Will Form Government in Telangana in Coming Days, Says State Chief Ramchander Rao

New Delhi, Jun 1(TNT): Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao on Monday asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party would form governments in Telangana and Karnataka in the coming years, while claiming that the state remains a key focus area for the party’s national leadership.

Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Ramchander Rao said BJP National President Nitin Nabin recently held a meeting with party state presidents and general secretaries (organisation), during which detailed guidance was provided on organisational strengthening and preparations for upcoming elections.

He said the BJP had expanded its footprint across the country by forming governments in several states and was working towards further growth in southern India.

According to Ramchander Rao, the BJP’s central leadership has placed special emphasis on Telangana and has directed state leaders to further strengthen the party organisation at all levels.

He also announced that Telangana Formation Day celebrations would be organised in New Delhi on June 2, with Nitin Nabin scheduled to participate and address party workers and supporters.

Targeting the Congress government in Telangana over paddy procurement, Ramchander Rao alleged that the state administration had failed to fulfil promises made to farmers during the Assembly election campaign.

He recalled that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had assured farmers that every grain of paddy produced would be procured, but claimed that delays in procurement had caused hardships to cultivators.

The BJP leader maintained that while the Union Government reimburses procurement costs, the responsibility for timely procurement rests with the state government.

He alleged that the Congress government delayed procurement operations by nearly a month this season, forcing farmers to leave their produce at procurement centres for extended periods.

Ramchander Rao further claimed that the state government began lifting paddy from procurement centres only after the BJP launched its “Rythu Gosa–BJP Bharosa Yatra” highlighting farmers’ grievances.

He also alleged discrepancies in procurement figures being quoted by different ministers in the state government and demanded greater transparency in the procurement process.

The BJP leader said the party would continue to raise issues concerning farmers and work towards strengthening its organisational base across Telangana ahead of future elections.
