AP: RINL screens 2,000 employees, contract workers under preventive health campaign
Visakhapatnam, Aug 11 (TNT): Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP), has conducted medical screening of around 2,000 employees and contract workers as part of a preventive healthcare campaign at its shop floors.
The campaign, conducted over the past two months, covered key health parameters including blood pressure, heart rate and blood sugar levels, RINL said in a release here on Tuesday.
A medical team comprising a physician, occupational health specialist and nursing staff conducted the screenings at various shop floors and the administrative building.
The initiative is aimed at early identification of health risks and facilitating timely medical intervention, the company said.
Details of the health screenings and medical records are being maintained at the Occupational Safety and Health Record Centre (OSHRC) for monitoring and follow-up.
Employees found with blood pressure or blood sugar-related issues were referred for further medical evaluation and advice. Medication and additional investigations were recommended wherever required.
RINL urged employees to make use of the facility and undergo regular health check-ups.
The initiative is part of the company’s efforts to strengthen preventive healthcare and promote the health and well-being of its workforce.
