AP CM Naidu Orders Strict Action in Rajamahendravaram Hit-and-Run Case

Amaravati, Aug. 7 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday expressed deep concern over the hit-and-run incident in Rajamahendravaram, in which two medical students were seriously injured, and directed officials to ensure stringent legal action against the accused.

The Chief Minister personally enquired about the health condition of the injured students, Priyanka and Umesh, and sought a detailed report on the incident.

Officials informed him that the victims were allegedly hit by a car driven by two persons under the influence of alcohol, who fled the scene after the accident.

The accused have since been arrested, they said.

Naidu directed the police to ensure exemplary punishment for those responsible and said the government would adopt zero tolerance towards reckless and irresponsible behaviour on the roads.

He also instructed officials to closely monitor Priyanka’s condition and ensure that both injured students receive the best possible medical treatment without any delay.

Stressing that justice must be delivered swiftly, the Chief Minister said those endangering innocent lives should not be spared under any circumstances.

He also conveyed his support to the injured students and their families and assured them of all necessary medical assistance until their complete recovery.
