AP CM Naidu Calls for National Mission on Employability, Invites Investments to Andhra Pradesh
New Delhi, May 11 (TNT) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday called for transforming employability into a national mission and stressed the need for governments, industries and educational institutions to work together to build a strong economic ecosystem for India’s future growth.
Delivering the keynote address at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Annual Business Summit at Taj Palace, here, the Chief Minister said educational institutions should focus on producing skilled professionals and innovators aligned with industry requirements, while governments must create investor-friendly ecosystems to attract investments.
Naidu said India should emerge as a global technology leader and highlighted the importance of improving employability through an integrated approach covering research, innovation, startups, manufacturing and skill development.
Inviting industrialists to invest in Andhra Pradesh, he said the state had attracted nearly 25 per cent of the country’s foreign investments through industry-friendly policies and secured investment commitments worth ₹23 lakh crore over the last 23 months, expected to generate employment opportunities for around 24 lakh people.
The Chief Minister welcomed CII’s proposal to establish a Global Leadership Centre in Amaravati and said Andhra Pradesh had introduced sector-specific policies to attract investments in clean energy, electronics, drones, aerospace, defence and emerging industries.
Highlighting the state’s future technology initiatives, Naidu said Andhra Pradesh is establishing a Quantum Computing Centre in partnership with IBM, Tata Consultancy Services and Larsen & Toubro.
He said the state had already established a Quantum Reference Facility and was moving towards manufacturing equipment required for quantum computing.
Naidu said Andhra Pradesh is implementing a “One Family, One Entrepreneur” model to promote MSME growth and entrepreneurship across the state.
Referring to India’s long-term economic prospects, he said the country is poised to become a global giant under reform-oriented leadership and highlighted the importance of resilience in the face of global economic disruptions.
The Chief Minister also underlined the importance of green energy and sustainable development, stating that Andhra Pradesh aims to contribute 160 GW towards India’s 500 GW renewable energy target.
He said the state was also advancing governance reforms centred on “Speed of Doing Business” and “Speed of Delivering Governance” while developing Amaravati as a technology-integrated capital city.
