Align Technology to Set Up First India Manufacturing Facility in Hyderabad with Rs.1,800 Cr Investment
Hyderabad, May 21 (TNT): Align Technology, a global medical device company known for the Invisalign system and digital orthodontics solutions, on Thursday announced an investment of around Rs.1,800 crore in Telangana to establish its first manufacturing facility in India at Hyderabad.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the proposed project was signed between Jitse Marree, Senior Vice President of Align Technology, and Sarvesh Singh, CEO of Telangana Life Sciences, on behalf of the Telangana government in the presence of IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu.
The proposed facility, which will be Align Technology’s fourth manufacturing site globally, is expected to generate more than 300 direct jobs over the next several years, according to the company.
The Hyderabad manufacturing unit will support large-scale production using advanced 3D printing technologies, digital manufacturing systems and precision engineering capabilities. The facility is expected to commence operations in 2027.
Senior leadership from Align Technology also met Sridhar Babu to discuss the company’s expansion plans, Hyderabad’s talent ecosystem, industrial infrastructure and policy environment.
Welcoming the investment, the Minister said Align Technology’s decision reflected growing global confidence in Telangana’s strengths across MedTech, life sciences, precision manufacturing and healthcare innovation.
He said Hyderabad had evolved into one of the world’s leading life sciences and healthcare ecosystems, supported by strong research institutions, advanced manufacturing infrastructure, digital capabilities and a skilled talent pool.
The company stated that the proposed manufacturing facility would complement its existing operations in Hyderabad, including its Global Capability Centre and the Align Innovation Center (AIC), further expanding its footprint in the city.
The investment is expected to strengthen Telangana’s MedTech and advanced healthcare manufacturing ecosystem by promoting innovation, generating skilled employment and supporting ancillary industries in the region.
