ACB Registers Disproportionate Assets Case Against Telangana Dy Collector

Hyderabad, May 23 (TNT):The Anti-Corruption Bureau Telangana has registered a Disproportionate Assets (DA) case against Marri Vamshi Mohan, Special Grade Deputy Collector, ULC, attached to the Office of the District Collector, Medchal-Malkajgiri district.

Preliminary searches were conducted at the officer’s office, residence and 11 other locations linked to his relatives, associates and benamidars following allegations that he had amassed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income through corrupt practices and dubious means, the ACB said in a release here on Saturday..

During the searches, officials reportedly unearthed 19 open plots valued at ₹4.46 crore, an independent house at NGOs Colony in Vanasthalipuram, two flats at Manikonda and Aajidabanda collectively valued at ₹1.12 crore, and a farmhouse spread across two acres at Narrepally in Ibrahimpatnam.

The ACB also recovered cash amounting to ₹2.10 lakh, bank deposits of ₹20 lakh, gold ornaments weighing around 122 grams and two vehicles, including a Toyota Innova Crysta and a Kia car.

The total value of the assets identified so far was estimated at around ₹6.22 crore, officials said, adding that the market value could be significantly higher.

Investigators also found a suspicious transaction involving the purchase of eight acres of agricultural land in Piglipur village of Abdullapurmet mandal in Ranga Reddy district, allegedly bought in 2023 in the name of the officer’s father-in-law.

The officer was arrested and would be produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases in Hyderabad for judicial remand.

Further investigation is underway.
