BRS Ex-MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy Passes Away; CM Revanth Reddy Condoles
Hyderabad, July 31 (TNT): Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) senior leader and former Narsampet MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy passed away while undergoing treatment at a corporate hospital here in the early hours of Friday. He was 52 and he is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
Sudarshan Reddy suffered a pulmonary embolism, a sudden blockage in an artery in the lungs, at his residence in Hanumakonda on July 26 and collapsed.
He was initially admitted to a private hospital in Hanumakonda, where doctors revived him after performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
He was later shifted to a corporate hospital in Hyderabad for advanced treatment, where he breathed his last.
A close associate of BRS founder-president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, Sudarshan Reddy contested the 2014 Assembly elections from the Narsampet constituency but was defeated.
He won the seat in the 2018 Assembly elections and served as a member of the Public Accounts Committee of the Telangana Legislative Assembly during his tenure. He contested the 2023 Assembly elections from Narsampet but lost.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed deep shock over the demise of the former legislator.
In a condolence message, the Chief Minister recalled Sudarshan Reddy’s active role in the Telangana statehood movement and lauded his contribution to public life. He said the former MLA had worked tirelessly for the welfare of the people of the Narsampet constituency and remained committed to the aspirations of Telangana.
Revanth Reddy conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
He also prayed that the family be given the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
Sudarshan Reddy was regarded as a prominent political leader from the erstwhile Warangal district and was known for championing regional issues during his political career.
Following news of his demise, BRS leaders, elected representatives and party workers from across the erstwhile Warangal district rushed to his native village of Nallabelli to pay their last respects.
Meanwhile, police deployed additional personnel in the Narsampet Assembly constituency as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order during the funeral arrangements.
