Daewoo opens flagship experience store in Ghaziabad, plans 100 outlets by 2027

Hyderabad, July 30 (TNT): EBG Group has launched Daewoo’s flagship experience store in Ghaziabad, marking the South Korean consumer appliance brand’s entry into experiential retail in India and unveiling plans to establish around 100 such stores across the country by 2027.

The 3,200-square-foot showroom, located at Indirapuram, was inaugurated by actor Murali Sharma in the presence of representatives from POSCO International, EBG Group officials, industry partners and dealers.

The experience store showcases Daewoo’s range of major home and kitchen appliances, including refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, dishwashers, microwave ovens, televisions and other consumer electronics. Customers can also access product demonstrations, consultations and after-sales support at the outlet, the company said in a release on Thursday.

The launch follows EBG Group’s strategic licensing agreement with POSCO International for Daewoo’s major domestic appliances business in India, under which the Indian company is responsible for manufacturing, distribution and retail expansion of the brand in the country.

As part of its expansion strategy, EBG Group has announced an investment of ₹150 crore towards product development, retail expansion, strengthening distribution networks, localisation initiatives and the introduction of new product categories.

The company said it plans to build an omnichannel retail network comprising company-owned stores, direct-to-consumer platforms, e-commerce and quick commerce channels, general trade outlets and electronics retail partners.

Aligned with the ‘Make in India’ initiative, Daewoo products will initially be assembled in India using imported components, with localisation levels expected to increase over time. The company said the initiative is expected to generate employment across manufacturing, retail, logistics, distribution and after-sales services.

EBG Group also announced plans to introduce Daewoo One, an AI and IoT-enabled smart home ecosystem designed to integrate multiple household appliances on a common platform.

Speaking on the occasion, EBG Group Founder Irfan Khan said the flagship store marks a significant milestone in the company’s efforts to strengthen Daewoo’s presence in India and expand access to its consumer appliance portfolio.
