Congress leadership describes Telangana Local Body polls victory as Mandate for ‘Prajala Telangana’

Hyderabad, Feby 14 (TNT): The Congress leadership o Saturday projected its victory in the Telangana local body elections as a significant political endorsement of the party’s governance model and welfare-driven agenda in the state.

In the Municipal Elections, the ruling Congress party decisively won 83 municipalities of 116 municipalities and five of corporations that went to polls on Feb 11.

Reacting to the results, senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha,  Rahul Gandhi said on ‘X’ that the mandate clearly validated the Congress government’s people-first approach.

He described the outcome as an endorsement of policies rooted in social justice, dignity and inclusive growth, and credited party karyakartas and leaders for the success.

“This victory belongs to you and to the people of Telangana,” he said.

On ‘X’ , Congress President Mallikarjuna Kharge termed the results a reflection of deep public trust in the party.

Thanking the grassroots cadre of Indian National Congress in Telangana, he said their commitment translated into a decisive mandate at the local level.

Kharge reiterated that the Congress government remains firmly committed to its political promise of building a “Prajala Telangana”, a governance framework aimed at ensuring social justice, economic empowerment and sustained development for all 3.8 crore people of Telangana.

Party leaders said the local body election outcome would strengthen the Congress politically ahead of future electoral battles.
