Sanjeevani public health programme to be rolled out across Andhra Pradesh from August: Cm Naidu
Aspari (Andhra Pradesh), July 25 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday announced that the State-wide ‘Sanjeevani’ public health programme will be launched from August to provide technology-driven healthcare services and ensure the well-being of every citizen.
Addressing a public meeting at Aspari in Alur Assembly constituency of Kurnool district, the Chief Minister said every citizen would be provided with a Digital Health Profile, while all family members would receive Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) Health IDs under the programme.
He said healthcare data from Primary Health Centres to State-level institutions would be integrated into a single digital platform to facilitate seamless access to medical services.
Naidu said the Sanjeevani programme would focus not only on treatment but also on disease prediction, prevention through early detection and timely intervention.
Stating that nearly 80 lakh people in the State were suffering from serious illnesses, he said the initiative was aimed at reducing the disease burden.
The Chief Minister said the programme would leverage artificial intelligence, telemedicine, remote healthcare, predictive analytics and digital nerve centres. Through the Sanjeevani Citizen Wellness App, people would be able to book appointments with doctors and access their medical records at any time.
He also appealed to people to adopt healthy lifestyles, including nutritious food, yoga, meditation and regular exercise, while assuring that the government would accord equal priority to public health and welfare.
Referring to the ongoing land resurvey, Naidu said all land records were being secured using blockchain technology and Pattadar Passbooks were being issued on the ninth of every month.
He expressed confidence that the State-wide resurvey would be completed by March next year.
The Chief Minister announced that production at the Kadapa Steel Plant was targeted to commence by 2028 and said Rayalaseema would be developed into a horticulture and industrial hub with investments of Rs one lakh crore from the public and private sectors.
Welcoming the Centre’s approval for the Kurnool-Ballari railway line, he also said the Rs 1,768-crore Vedavathi Lift Irrigation Scheme would be completed to provide irrigation to the region.
In view of reduced rainfall due to the El Niño effect, he urged farmers to use water judiciously and said the Jala Dhara programme was being implemented to improve groundwater levels.
Later, the Chief Minister reviewed the performance of the district administration and congratulated officials for their work.
He said the coalition government was committed to providing good governance through effective implementation of welfare and development programmes at the grassroots level.
