JNTUK contract Assistant professors seek jobs regularization
Kakinada ,July 22 (TNT): In response to the call given by the state association, the Assistant professors working on contract in the university college of engineering , JNTUK staged a protest demonstration in front of the University administrative building on Wednesday demanding regularization of their services.
They demanded justice by providing the job safety as most of them were working for the past two decades as assistant professors on contract .
They also demanded that the recruitment process should be taken up only after regularizing their services who are working as the assistant professors for the past several years .`
It was most painful that a list was prepared announcing hundreds of contract assistant professors were ineligible for the job of associate professors ‘they remarked.
Later they called on JNTUK Registrar Prof R Srinivasarao in a delegation and presented a memorandum to him listing out their demands.
They told the Registrar that through the Court gave orders directing that time scale should be given to the contract assistant professors no university was implementing the same.
They expressed their anguish over the stance of the universities looking them down and pleaded for justice by providing job safety.
They submitted the copies of relevant GOs in support of their demand.
The registrar gave a patient hearing and assured them of justice by taking up their issue with the government.
