SCR GM holds safety review meeting on tackling challenges during monsoons
Hyderabad, July 20 (TNT) : South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, conducted a Safety Review Meeting at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad here on Monday.
The session focused on evaluating the zone’s readiness in ensuring uninterrupted, safe train operations and tackling challenges during monsoons, the SCR said in a release here.
The meeting was attended by Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all three divisions — Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded joined via video conferencing.
In view of the monsoon season, the General Manager advised the field staff to ensure the monsoon patrolling and also advised Railway officials to be in regular touch with State Government Officials with regard to water flow especially at the vulnerable location’s tracks.
He instructed the Officers/ Supervisors to conduct intensive checks at the manned level crossing gates frequently to check the alertness of the staff onduty.
The General Manager emphasized to conduct checks in AC coaches to monitor the Linen Management and also to ensure the clearance of vestibules to avoid any fire incidents.
Further instructions have been issued to prevent miscreant activities such as placing metallic objects or leaving construction debris on tracks, which could compromise operational safety.
The importance of conducting refresher courses for employees was also emphasized, ensuring that staff remain updated on evolving safety protocols and operational practices, he added.
