BikeWo, Yubhas Renewables to pilot solar-assisted electric three-wheelers for rural mobility
Hyderabad, July 17 (TNT): Hyderabad-based BikeWo Green Tech Limited has entered into a partnership with Yubhas Renewables Private Limited to conduct commercial trials of solar-assisted electric three-wheelers aimed at strengthening clean mobility solutions in rural and semi-urban areas.
Under the collaboration, BikeWo will deploy the vehicles through its rider network to assess their performance under real-world operating conditions ahead of commercial launch.
The pilot will evaluate key performance parameters, including driving range, battery efficiency, payload capacity, ride quality, thermal performance, braking efficiency, operating costs and overall reliability, the company said in a release here.
Operational feedback gathered during the trials will be used to further improve the vehicle before large-scale deployment.
The two companies also plan to jointly promote rural entrepreneurship by training youth in vehicle operations, maintenance, customer service and business management, enabling them to become owner-operators of solar-assisted electric three-wheelers.
The initiative is expected to support rural transportation needs, including passenger services, agricultural logistics, village deliveries, healthcare access and other last-mile connectivity solutions.
The companies said eligible participants may also be able to avail financing under the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana, subject to applicable eligibility norms and lender approvals.
BikeWo Chief Executive Officer Hiten Pal Saklani said the partnership would help evaluate an innovative clean mobility technology under commercial operating conditions while creating opportunities for sustainable rural livelihoods.
Yubhas Renewables Founder and Chief Executive Officer Sai Satyam Pradhan said the pilot would provide valuable operational feedback to enhance the vehicle’s reliability, affordability and commercial viability, while supporting the development of a clean mobility ecosystem in rural India.
The partnership is aimed at accelerating the adoption of sustainable transportation solutions, improving last-mile mobility and generating livelihood opportunities through clean energy-based mobility initiatives.
