AP: JNTUK signs MoU with Swedish institute for integrated double degree programme

Kakinada, July 15 (TNT): Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK) on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Sweden’s Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH) to launch a five-year integrated double-degree master’s programme.

The agreement was signed during the second day of the International Symposium on Recent Trends in Technical Education-2026 in the presence of Vice-Chancellor C.S.R.K. Prasad, University College of Engineering Principal K. Padmaraju and other university officials.

In another development, JNTUK’s Department of Food Technology signed an MoU with the CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysuru, to promote student internships, collaborative research, faculty exchange and academic cooperation in the field of food technology.

University officials said the partnership with CFTRI is expected to strengthen research capabilities and provide industry exposure to students.

The second day of the symposium also featured expert lectures and panel discussions on emerging technologies, innovation, entrepreneurship and industry-academia collaboration.

Experts, including R.V. Rajkumar, Solomanraj Kota and T. Venkata Mani, delivered lectures on emerging technologies and their applications in electronics and communication engineering.

Prof. Lars Lundberg, Phanindranath Choudary Kaza and Allam Narendra spoke on collaboration between Swedish industry and academia, skill development, workforce readiness, artificial intelligence and contemporary practices in computer science engineering.

The speakers stressed the need for stronger industry-academia partnerships to equip students with globally relevant skills and prepare them for future technological challenges.
