PM Modi to inaugurate redeveloped Hi-Tech City Railway Station on July 17

Hyderabad, July 15 (TNT) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the redeveloped Hi-Tech City Railway Station in Hyderabad through video conferencing on July 17, South Central Railway (SCR) said on Wednesday.

The station has been redeveloped at a cost of ₹26 crore under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, under which Indian Railways is modernising railway stations across the country.

SCR officials said 40 railway stations in Telangana have been identified for redevelopment at an estimated cost of over ₹2,000 crore.

Of these, Begumpet, Warangal and Karimnagar stations have already been inaugurated, while Hi-Tech City is the fourth station to be completed under the scheme.

Addressing a press conference at the station, SCR Chief Public Relations Officer A. Sridhar said more than 1,300 railway stations are being redeveloped across the country under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

He said the revamped Hi-Tech City Railway Station, located in Hyderabad’s western IT corridor, has been equipped with a 12-metre-wide foot overbridge, additional lifts, escalators, improved station façade, a new portico and passenger-friendly signage, among other amenities.

The redevelopment works were carried out in phases to minimise inconvenience to passengers and train operations, he added.

SCR said the modernised station has been designed with enhanced passenger spaces, contemporary architecture and improved commuter facilities to support Hyderabad’s growing IT corridor and strengthen sustainable urban mobility and multimodal connectivity.
