Green Gold to invest Rs 50-Cr in Chhota Bheem Cafe expansion, opens first outlet in Hyderabad
Hyderabad, July 15 (TNT)): Green Gold Animation, in partnership with EBG Group, on Wednesday launched India’s first Chhota Bheem Cafe in Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills, marking the popular animation studio’s entry into experiential hospitality.
The Hyderabad outlet is the first in a phased expansion plan. Green Gold Animation and EBG Group plan to invest ₹50 crore to establish 25 Chhota Bheem Cafe outlets across major Tier-I cities in the first year before expanding through a franchise-led model.
The partners said they aim to scale the network to 50 outlets over the next three years, subject to successful execution. The expansion is expected to generate over 500 direct and indirect jobs across hospitality, operations, kitchen services and franchise support.
The themed cafe, inspired by the fictional village of Dholakpur and the characters from the long-running Chhota Bheem animated series, has been conceived as a family destination combining dining, children’s play, learning and entertainment.
The cafe offers themed dining, children’s activities, birthday celebrations and exclusive merchandise based on the franchise.
As part of its focus on children’s wellness, the outlet will serve nutritious menu options, including millet-based pizzas and burgers, healthier snacks, themed desserts, beverages and the franchise’s signature Power Laddoos.
The company has also introduced a healthy Bento Box subscription service for school-going children, offering balanced breakfast and lunch meals through offline delivery channels and cafe outlets.
Speaking at the launch, EBG Group Founder and Chairman Irfan Khan said the concept aims to bring together healthy food, play and learning while creating a homegrown family entertainment brand.
He said the expansion would also generate employment in hospitality, operations and franchising.
Green Gold Animation Founder and CEO Rajiv Chilaka said the cafe was an attempt to take the Chhota Bheem brand beyond television by offering children and families an immersive experience centred around the popular characters.
The company said the outlet will also host activities such as Junior Chef Quest, a supervised cooking programme for children, besides workshops, storytelling sessions and other interactive events.
The cafe model could later be extended to other characters from Green Gold Animation’s portfolio as part of efforts to expand its intellectual property beyond television, films and merchandise, the ccompany added.
