Landslide in Mumbai Division disrupts rail traffic; SCR diverts 25 trains, partially cancels two services

Hyderabad, July 11 (TNT): South Central Railway (SCR) has announced the diversion of 25 trains and the partial cancellation of two services due to a landslide in the Karjat–Lonavala section of the Mumbai Division, affecting train operations between July 9 and 17.

Several trains connecting Telangana and Andhra Pradesh with Mumbai, Gujarat and other western destinations will be diverted through alternative routes via Daund, Manmad, Jalgaon, Paldhi, Surat, Igatpuri, Kalyan and Solapur, depending on their destinations, the SCR said in a release here on Saturday.

Among the affected trains are the Visakhapatnam–LTT Mumbai Express (18519), Secunderabad–Rajkot Express (22718), Secunderabad–Porbandar Express (20967), LTT Mumbai–Visakhapatnam Express (18520), Rajkot–Secunderabad Express (22717) and several Chennai, Madurai, Ahmedabad and Coimbatore-bound services.

The diversions will remain in force on different journey commencement dates between July 9 and July 17.

SCR also announced the partial cancellation of two train services.

The CST Mumbai–KSR Bengaluru Express (11301), running from July 11 to 17, will originate from Pune, remaining cancelled between CST Mumbai and Pune. Similarly, the KSR Bengaluru–CST Mumbai Express (11302), running from July 10 to 16, will terminate at Khadki, with services cancelled between Khadki and CST Mumbai.

The railway administration has advised passengers to check the revised schedules and diversion details before commencing their journey.
