TSRTC Deploys 2,243 Special Buses to meet Maha Shivaratri Rush

Hyderabad, Feb 11 (TNT) : In a bid to manage the expected surge of pilgrims during Maha Shivaratri, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) will operate 2,243 special buses to 43 Shaiva pilgrimage centres across Telangana.

The Corpoation officials said the special services will run from February 14 to 16.

The highest number of buses will be operated to Srisailam (781), followed by Vemulawada (416), Edupayala (249), Keesaragutta (326) and Kaleshwaram (71).

Additional special services will also connect key pilgrimage centres including Komuravelli, Alampur, Umamaheshwaram, Palakurthi and Ramappa.

TSRTC clarified that revised fares of up to 1.5 times the regular charges will apply only to special buses, while regular services will continue at existing fares.

The free travel facility for women, under the state government scheme, will remain applicable.
