Telangana Municipal Elections: 48.54% Polling recorded till 1:00 PM

Hyderabad, Feb 11 (TNT): Polling in the Telangana municipal elections remained steady on Wednesday, with 48.54 per cent voter turnout recorded across the state till 1:00 PM.

According to the Election officials, the next update on polling percentages will be released at 3:00 PM.

Among the seven municipal corporations, Kothagudem Municipal Corporation registered the highest turnout at 53 while Nizamabad Municipal Corporation recorded the lowest at 35.49 per cent.

Across the 116 municipalities, voter participation was comparatively higher, with an average polling of 51.6 per cent, indicating stronger engagement at the grassroots municipal level. Waddepalli Municipality in Alampur district emerged as a high-turnout pocket with 68.57 per cent voting, whereas Nirmal Municipality reported the lowest turnout at 33.73 per cent.

Polling is continuing peacefully under tight security, and election officials expressed confidence that overall turnout may rise significantly by the close of voting.
