BJP Will Continue Fight Until Congress is Ousted in Telangana: Nitin Nabin
Hyderabad, June 30 (TNT): BJP National President Nitin Nabin on Tuesday called upon Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers to intensify their efforts to remove the Congress government from power in Telangana, alleging that the ruling dispensation had failed to deliver on its promises and was mired in corruption.
Addressing the BJP State Executive Committee meeting at Rock Convention Centre in Ghatkesar, he alleged that the Congress government was “running a politics of lies” and urged party workers to expose its “false promises” at every Gram Panchayat and booth level.
“The Congress government, instead of focusing on development and public welfare, has turned Telangana into an ATM for the Congress party,” he alleged.
Nabin claimed that after the defeat of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi government, the BJP was emerging as the principal alternative political force in Telangana.
He urged party workers to prepare for a stronger political struggle against what he described as “family rule, corruption and unfulfilled promises.”
Alleging that the Congress, BRS and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen shared a common political culture of corruption, dynastic politics and failure to honour commitments, he said the BJP’s ideology was based on inclusive development under the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas.”
The BJP leader also accused the Telangana government of failing to protect Hindu religious institutions and condemned the recent attack on an Ayyappa Swamy temple, saying those responsible should be held accountable through democratic means.
Referring to the formation of Telangana, Nabin said the aspirations behind the creation of the state were yet to be fully realised.
He recalled the role played by late Sushma Swaraj in supporting the creation of Telangana and said the BJP and the people of the state had made significant sacrifices for statehood.
He alleged that the Congress viewed power as a means for self-interest rather than public service and asserted that the BJP would mobilise people with the objective of building a “Congress-mukt Telangana.”
Calling for a stronger grassroots organisation, Nabin said the BJP’s strength lay in its booth-level workers and that victory at every polling booth would pave the way for the party to form the next government in the state.
Drawing a comparison with the BJP’s electoral expansion in eastern India, he said, “Just as the lotus bloomed across Anga, Banga and Kalinga, the time has come for the lotus to bloom in Telangana.”
He said change in Telangana would not come from Delhi alone but through sustained efforts by party workers working alongside the people.
Describing Telangana as a special focus for the BJP’s national leadership, Nabin expressed confidence that the party’s growing organisational strength and public support would enable it to form the next government in the state.
He also said it was a privilege to attend his first Telangana State Executive Committee meeting after assuming charge as BJP National President and remarked that the enthusiastic response received during his three-day visit indicated a bright future for the party in the state.
The meeting was presided over by State BJP President N. Ramchander Rao and attended by Union Ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, OBC Morcha national president Dr K Laxman, party’s national general secretary Sunil Bansal, state party in-charge Abhay Patil, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, state leaders and office bearers.
