PV Narasimha Rao’s Economic Reforms Laid Foundation for a Prosperous India: Telangana Governor
Hyderabad, June 28 (TNT) : Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Sunday said the visionary economic reforms introduced by former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna P.V. Narasimha Rao laid the foundation for India’s emergence as a prosperous nation.
Addressing the 105th birth anniversary celebrations of P.V. Narasimha Rao, organised by the P.V. Narasimha Rao Memorial Charitable Trust at Ravindra Bharathi here, the Governor paid rich tributes to the former Prime Minister and hailed his lasting contribution to the country’s economic transformation.
Shukla said P.V. Narasimha Rao, who rose from the rural heartland of Telangana to lead the nation, remained deeply connected to the culture and values of his native soil.
Describing him as a distinguished statesman, scholar, multilingual intellectual, author and visionary leader, he said Rao steered the country through one of its most difficult phases and ushered in landmark economic reforms that reshaped India’s future.
As part of the annual felicitation programme, the Governor honoured organisations, educational institutions, corporate bodies and individuals for their outstanding contribution to voluntary blood donation.
Highlighting the importance of voluntary blood donation, Shukla said blood cannot be manufactured in laboratories and can only be made available through the selfless generosity of fellow human beings.
He urged citizens to emulate the ideals of P.V. Narasimha Rao by dedicating themselves to knowledge, integrity and selfless service to the nation.
The Governor also appreciated the P.V. Narasimha Rao Memorial Charitable Trust for promoting humanitarian service by recognising individuals and institutions committed to voluntary blood donation.
Padma Shri awardee and actor-producer Murali Mohan, founder of the P.V. Narasimha Rao Memorial Charitable Trust Dr. N.V. Sudha Kiran, and several other dignitaries attended the programme.
