Govt Advises Pilgrims Not to Undertake Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Without Mandatory Travel Documents

New Delhi, June 28 (TNT): The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Sunday advised Indian citizens not to commence the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra until they have obtained all the mandatory travel documents required for the complete journey.

The advisory was issued after the Ministry received requests for assistance from several Indian pilgrims stranded in Nepal while undertaking the pilgrimage through private tour operators.

The MEA said some pilgrims travelled to Nepal without securing the mandatory Chinese visa and entry permit required to enter China, resulting in difficulties during the Yatra.

The Ministry cautioned pilgrims against beginning the pilgrimage in anticipation of obtaining the required permits later, saying such a course could lead to hardship and disruption during the journey.

It also urged devotees to ensure that their tour operator is duly registered and authorised before undertaking the pilgrimage.

The advisory is aimed at ensuring a safe and hassle-free Kailash Mansarovar Yatra and preventing inconvenience to pilgrims.
