Provide employment instead seeking jobs ‘: JNTUK VC
Kakinada, June 27 (TNT): Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK) Vice-Chancellor Prof. C.S.R.K. Prasad on Saturday called upon engineering graduates to emerge as entrepreneurs and industrialists, creating employment opportunities instead of becoming job seekers.
Addressing the Graduation Day-2026 programme at the University College of Engineering as the chief guest, Prof. Prasad said graduation marks an important milestone in life and the beginning of a journey of professional service, continuous learning and contribution to society.
He urged students to remain lifelong learners and said engineers have a responsibility to utilise their knowledge and skills for the welfare of the nation.
Besides technical competence, graduates should uphold moral and ethical values, discipline, sincerity and leadership qualities, he added.
The Vice-Chancellor said the youth should take the lead in research, innovation, start-ups, artificial intelligence and sustainable development, and actively contribute to the country’s progress.
University College of Engineering Principal Prof. K. Padmaraju presented the academic report for 2025-26, highlighting the institution’s achievements in academics, research, placements, national and international recognitions, faculty research, infrastructure development, industry partnerships, innovation and start-up initiatives.
Prof. Prasad and Prof. Padmaraju later distributed degree certificates to 216 students who graduated during the 2025-26 academic year.
Academic Vice-Principal Prof. G.V.S.R. Deekshitulu, Administrative Vice-Principal Prof. M. Swarooparani, heads of departments, faculty members, graduates, their parents and alumni attended the function.
