Smart manufacturing to define future of industry: Telangana Dy CM Bhatti

Hyderabad, June 26 (TNT): Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Friday said the future of manufacturing will be driven not merely by machines but by intelligence, efficiency and sustainability.

Inaugurating the third edition of IITEX 2026 – Industrial Innovation & Technology Expo, organised by the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) at the Hitex Exhibition Centre here, Bhatti said industrial competitiveness would increasingly depend on how intelligently factories operate, conserve energy and integrate advanced technologies.

“Manufacturing in the future will not be driven by machines alone. What matters is how efficiently they operate, how well they communicate with each other, how much energy they conserve, and how smart they are,” he said.

Addressing more than 250 industrialists, entrepreneurs, policymakers and technology experts, the Deputy Chief Minister said Telangana had emerged as a preferred investment destination over the past decade and reiterated the government’s commitment to creating a business-friendly ecosystem.

He said the government regarded investors as wealth creators and stressed that the benefits of ease of doing business should extend beyond large industries to include Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Outlining the state’s industrial vision, Bhatti said Telangana’s growth strategy rests on five pillars—innovation, sustainability, skills, MSME strengthening and partnerships.

He invited the private sector to partner with the government under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model to achieve the state’s goal of becoming a USD 3 trillion economy by 2047.

Highlighting the government’s focus on sustainable industrialisation, he said all electric vehicles enjoy 100 per cent exemption from road tax in Telangana.

He added that the state has already crossed 5 GW of installed solar power capacity and aims to increase it to 34 GW by 2035.

Welcoming the participants, R. Ravi Kumar, President of FTCCI, said IITEX 2026 was designed to connect industries, technology providers, buyers and policymakers under one roof to facilitate networking, technology adoption and business partnerships.

He said this year’s expo focuses on eight high-growth sectors, including electric mobility, solar energy, food processing technologies, industrial automation, smart manufacturing and innovative packaging, besides showcasing Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) technologies for predictive maintenance and improved operational efficiency.

Vimlesh Gupta, Convenor of IITEX 2026, said over 100 exhibitors were participating in the three-day exhibition, which is expected to attract more than 15,000 business visitors.

C.S.S. Rao, Joint Director, MSME Development and Facilitation Office, highlighted various Central Government schemes aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of MSMEs and supporting their participation in trade fairs and exhibitions.

Among the prominent exhibitors are Any Time Diesel, Truzon Solar, Ampleton, Bondada Group, Hyderabad Security Council and Supersac, showcasing innovations ranging from green construction materials and automated cooking systems to sustainable packaging, energy-efficient cooling systems and smart ventilation technologies.

The exhibition will remain open to visitors until Sunday evening.
