Bengaluru, June 25 (TNT): TVS Motor Company on Thursday announced the rollout of the one millionth TVS iQube electric scooter from its manufacturing facility at Hosur, marking a significant milestone in India’s electric mobility journey.

In a release, the company said the achievement reflects the growing adoption of electric vehicles in the country and reinforces India’s transition towards sustainable and technology-driven mobility solutions.

TVS Motor Chairman Sudarshan Venu said the milestone was the result of sustained investments in engineering, innovation and manufacturing capabilities that enabled the company to develop world-class electric mobility solutions designed and manufactured in India.

He said India has a unique opportunity to emerge as a global leader in future mobility and reiterated the company’s commitment to supporting the country’s vision of becoming a developed nation through sustainable transportation solutions.

Launched in 2020, the TVS iQube has emerged as one of India’s leading electric scooter brands. The company has expanded the product portfolio with multiple battery capacities, range options and connected features to cater to varying customer requirements.

TVS Motor said the iQube is supported by a sales and service network of over 3,300 touchpoints spread across more than 3,000 cities nationwide, helping make electric mobility accessible to a wider customer base.

According to the company, TVS iQube riders have collectively covered more than 14.94 billion kilometres since the scooter’s launch, contributing significantly to environmental sustainability.

The company said the cumulative usage of the electric scooter has helped avoid approximately 5.23 lakh tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.

The environmental impact is equivalent to planting nearly 2.09 crore trees, it added.

TVS Motor said the milestone highlights the growing role of electric mobility in supporting India’s sustainability goals and reducing dependence on conventional fossil-fuel-based transportation.
