Garuda Dhwajarohanam Marks Grand Beginning of Brahmotsavams at Appalayagunta
Tirupati, June 25(TNT): The annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Appalayagunta commenced on Thursday with the ceremonial Garuda Dhwajarohanam amid Vedic chanting and the reverberation of Govinda namasmarana.
The sacred Garuda flag was hoisted in accordance with Agama traditions, symbolically inviting celestial beings and deities to participate in the nine-day religious festival.
Following the Dhwajarohanam, Snapana Tirumanjanam was performed to the presiding deities. The temple administration has made elaborate arrangements for devotees, including distribution of Annaprasadam, provision of drinking water, medical facilities, floral decorations and cultural programmes.
As part of the festivities, the first Vahana Seva, Pedda Sesha Vahanam, will be conducted on Thursday night.
A large number of devotees participated in the inaugural celebrations and offered prayers to the deity.
Among those present were TTD CVSO Muralikrishna, Temple Deputy Executive Officer  Haridranath, Assistant Executive Officer Devarajulu, Kankanam Bhattar Sri Suryakumar Archayulu, Superintendent Sreevani, Temple Inspector Venugopal, archakas and other officials.
