PM Congratulates Indian Women’s Hockey Team on FIH Nations Cup Triumph
New Delhi, June 21(TNT): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday congratulated the Indian women’s hockey team for winning the FIH Hockey Women’s Nations Cup, praising the players for their outstanding performance throughout the tournament.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said the team had brought pride and joy to the nation with its achievement.
“Indian hockey players bring pride and joy! Congratulations to the women’s team for emerging as winners in the FIH Hockey Women’s Nations Cup. The team played exceptionally well throughout the entire tournament. Best wishes to the team,” Modi said.
The Prime Minister also expressed hope that the victory would inspire more youngsters to take up hockey and contribute to the growth of the sport in the country.
“May this win inspire several others to play hockey,” he added.
India’s triumph in the tournament marks another significant achievement for women’s hockey and is expected to provide a major boost to the sport’s popularity across the country.
