Telangana CEO Reviews Preparedness for Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls
Hyderabad, June 19 (TNT): Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) C. Sudharsan Reddy on Friday reviewed the preparedness for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of electoral rolls, which is scheduled to commence across the State from June 25.
The review was conducted through a video conference attended by Additional Chief Electoral Officer Vasam Venkateswar Reddy, the GHMC Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer, Hyderabad, District Election Officers (DEOs) and Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) from across the State.
During the meeting, the CEO directed officials to strictly adhere to the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI) while implementing the Special Intensive Revision programme.
He instructed officials to strengthen coordination with Booth Level Officers (BLOs), Booth Level Agents (BLAs) and volunteers, conduct regular review meetings and awareness programmes, and ensure proper training for BLOs in filling, collecting and uploading Enumeration Forms.
The CEO also stressed the need for extensive public awareness through FAQs, pamphlets and local outreach activities, besides ensuring transparency and accuracy in field-level implementation.
He called for active participation of political parties, village organisations and other stakeholders in the revision exercise.
Officials were directed to prepare comprehensive action plans for the revision process to ensure that the electoral rolls are updated accurately and inclusively.
District Collectors-cum-District Election Officers, Electoral Registration Officers and senior officials of the Election Department participated in the video conference.
