GIIS to Set Up Rs.100-Cr International School Campus in Andhra Pradesh

Amaravati, June 17 (TNT): Singapore-headquartered Global Schools Group (GSG) has announced the establishment of a new campus of its flagship Global Indian International School (GIIS) in Amaravati, the state capital of Andhra Pradesh,  providing a major boost to Andhra Pradesh’s efforts to develop the capital city into a global education and knowledge hub.

The proposed K-12 campus will be developed on a four-acre site at Sakhamuru village in Thulluru mandal with an investment of ₹100 crore, the institution said in a release here on Wednesday.

The project is expected to strengthen educational infrastructure in Amaravati while reflecting growing international confidence in the capital city’s long-term development prospects.

A formal agreement for the project was signed between the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) and GIIS.

The agreement was signed by CRDA Joint Director Jubin Roy and GIIS Country Director Rajeev Koul.

The proposed campus will feature technology-enabled classrooms, innovation laboratories, sports facilities, performing arts centres and holistic development spaces.

Students will have access to GIIS’ internationally recognised educational framework that integrates academic excellence, leadership development, entrepreneurship, values-based learning and future-ready skills.

Global Schools Group Chairman and Co-Founder Atul Temurnikar said the institution was honoured to contribute to Andhra Pradesh’s Swarna Andhra Vision 2047 and thanked Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and the state government for creating an environment that encourages investments in education and human capital development.

He said the establishment of GIIS in Amaravati was not merely the creation of a school but an investment in the future of the region, aimed at providing globally benchmarked education and equipping students with the skills, values and sustainability mindset needed to succeed in a rapidly changing world.

During his recent visit to Singapore, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu met Temurnikar and welcomed GIIS to Amaravati, describing the project as a significant addition to the capital’s educational ecosystem.

The initiative also reinforces the longstanding association between Singapore and Amaravati. Singapore played a key role in preparing Amaravati’s master plan, and the establishment of a Singapore-based educational institution is expected to further strengthen cooperation in education, talent development and knowledge exchange.

With operations in 11 countries and a network serving more than 45,000 students worldwide, Global Schools Group is among the leading international K-12 education providers.

The Amaravati campus is expected to expand GIIS’ presence in India while catering to the growing demand for international-quality education and helping nurture future-ready talent.
