Telangana Govt Committed to Supporting Small Contractors, Says Dy CM Bhatti
Hyderabad, June 16 (TNT): Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Tuesday assured small civil contractors that the state government would clear their pending bills in a phased manner and continue to stand by them in addressing their financial concerns.
The assurance was given during a meeting at Praja Bhavan with representatives of the Builders Association of India (BAI) and civil contractors, who sought the release of pending dues.
Bhatti said the government was responding to the concerns of small contractors with empathy and had been ensuring regular monthly payments through the Finance Department while working on a structured plan to settle all outstanding bills.
He reiterated that the government remains committed to supporting small contractors and would clear pending payments in phases across the state.
Earlier in the day, representatives of the contractors had held discussions with Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy before meeting the Deputy Chief Minister and briefing him on the outcome of those talks.
Following the meeting, Builders Association of India State Chairman Ravinder Reddy expressed satisfaction over the government’s positive response and assurance regarding payment of pending dues.
He announced that the association had decided to postpone its proposed “Chalo Hyderabad” programme, which was scheduled to be held on June 18, in view of the assurances received from the government.
Ravinder Reddy also thanked Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy for their supportive approach towards resolving the contractors’ issues.
The meeting was attended by Builders Association of India National Vice-President V. Satyamurthy, former National President S.N. Reddy, former Vice-Presidents D.V.N. Reddy, Sugunakar Rao, Bhaskar Reddy, Santosh Reddy, Prabhakar, Shyam Reddy and other representatives of the construction sector.
