Telangana CM to Launch First Telangana Public School at Arutla, Ranga Reddy Dist, tomorrow

Hyderabad, June 16 (TNT): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will launch the first Telangana Public School (TPS) at Arutla in Ranga Reddy district on Wednesday , marking a major step in the state government’s efforts to transform public education and provide quality schooling on par with corporate institutions.

On the occaision, the Chief Minister will unveil the Telangana Public School pylon and inspect the school’s facilities, including digital classrooms, science laboratories, library, dining hall and sports infrastructure.

He is also scheduled to interact with students, teachers and school management committee members and have breakfast with students before addressing a public meeting at the venue.

Conceived as the Chief Minister’s flagship education initiative, the Telangana Public School model has been developed with modern infrastructure and advanced teaching facilities aimed at delivering international-standard education from nursery to intermediate level.

The schools will offer English-medium instruction while placing equal emphasis on academics, sports, cultural activities and personality development.

Students enrolled in TPS institutions will be provided free transportation, breakfast, lunch and evening snacks.

The Arutla campus features digital classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, a library, gymnasium, dining halls and extensive sports facilities for cricket, football, volleyball, kho-kho, kabaddi, tennis and carrom. Specialized coaches have also been appointed for various sports disciplines.

The project was developed under the supervision of the Telangana Education Commission, constituted by the state government as part of its education reforms.

Education Commission Chairman Dr. Akunuri Murali and members P.L. Visweshwar Rao, Dr. Charakonda Venkatesh and Joshna Shivareddy played a key role in shaping the TPS concept.

The government has selected four schools for the pilot phase of the programme — Arutla and Manchala in Ranga Reddy district, and Vangur and Polkampalli in the erstwhile Mahabubnagar district.

The state plans to expand the Telangana Public School model by establishing 100 such institutions in phases across Telangana.

To facilitate student access, the government has deployed five school buses to transport children from Arutla and surrounding villages.

Officials said the initiative is expected to encourage parents to shift their children from private institutions to government-run schools offering high-quality education and modern facilities.

The Arutla Telangana Public School currently has 1,814 students, including 150 in pre-primary, 600 in primary classes, 800 in high school and 264 in intermediate courses.

Authorities said the institution has witnessed overwhelming demand from parents and has already reached full capacity.

Officials described the launch of the Telangana Public School by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy as a milestone in the state’s education sector and a significant step towards strengthening public confidence in government schools.
