Over 900 Teachers Participate in Yogandhra-2026 Thematic Yoga Programme in Kakinada
Kakinada, June 13 (TNT): More than 900 teachers from schools across Kakinada district participated in a Thematic Yoga Programme organised on Saturday as part of the Yogandhra-2026 campaign ahead of International Yoga Day.
MLC Karri Padmasri, Civil Supplies Corporation Chairman Thota Sudhir, KAUDA Chairman Thalatam Satya, former Minister Chikkala Ramachandra Rao, District Collector M. N. Harendhira Prasad, Joint Collector Apurva Bharat, the District Educational Officer and other senior officials attended the event as guests of honour.
Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries urged people to make yoga an integral part of their daily lives and contribute to the success of International Yoga Day 2026.
They emphasised that teachers play a crucial role in building a healthy society and can significantly help promote awareness about yoga among students.
The programme featured mass yoga demonstrations, common yoga protocol exercises and health awareness activities.
Teachers participated enthusiastically in the sessions conducted by Dr. Sudha of the JNTU Yoga Wing, Krishna Mohan of the Art of Living organisation and representatives of the Brahma Kumaris.
District Sports Officer Satish, Municipal Health Officer Dr. Prudhwicharan and officials from various departments also took part in the yoga practice.
Organisers said the event successfully advanced the objectives of the Yogandhra-2026 campaign by encouraging wider public participation in yoga and promoting awareness about its health benefits.
