Telangana DGP inaugurates Advanced Computer Lab and She Cyber Lab at CID Headquarters
Hyderabad, June 12 (TNT): Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) C.V. Anand inaugurated an Advanced Computer Lab and She Cyber Lab at the CID Headquarters here on Friday.,
Speaking on the occasion, the DGP said technology has become the most powerful tool in modern policing and its effective utilisation is crucial for crime prevention, investigation and combating cybercrime in the rapidly evolving digital landscape.
Anand said Telangana Police continues to remain at the forefront of technology adoption in the country and is consistently embracing innovative solutions to strengthen law enforcement and improve public service delivery.
The newly established facility is equipped with an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered Smart Conference, Crime Analytics and Data Management System designed to enhance investigative capabilities and promote data-driven policing, he said.
Anand said Telangana Police has earned a distinct reputation for leveraging technology in policing and has emerged as a model for police organisations across the country.
“Since the formation of Telangana, the police department has consistently adopted innovative practices and advanced technological solutions. The state has made significant progress in cybercrime prevention, digital forensic investigations and data analytics, earning recognition at the national level,” he said.
The DGP said the department is continuously introducing technological innovations to modernise policing, improve investigative efficiency and ensure timely delivery of services to citizens.
He highlighted the role of the recently introduced T-SPARK technology team, which is contributing significantly to technology-driven policing and innovation within the department.
According to officials, the newly inaugurated system incorporates several advanced features aimed at improving operational efficiency and investigative processes.
The AI-enabled system can automatically identify a speaker during meetings, direct cameras towards the speaker, zoom in automatically and record high-quality video and audio. Discussions can be digitally captured, transcribed and stored for future reference.
The system is also capable of recognising content displayed on digital screens and converting it into text, audio or report formats. Using AI-based analytics, it can process large volumes of data, facilitate crime mapping, filter information, analyse trends and support comprehensive case reviews.
Another key feature is its ability to digitally record and preserve feedback from victims and complainants, enabling investigators to assess public responses, monitor case progress and improve the quality of investigations.
Officials said the facility would also support faster and more efficient operations within the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS), including case registration, data management, verification, analysis and correction of records wherever necessary.
The DGP said adoption of such advanced technologies would improve accuracy in criminal investigations, enhance transparency, accelerate decision-making and strengthen overall policing effectiveness.
He expressed confidence that the new facility would mark a significant milestone in the modernisation of Telangana Police and CID operations.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by DG (ACB and CID), Charu Sinha; DIGs Naveen Kumar, Narayana Naik and Parimala Hana Nuthan; SP Maddipati Srinivas; and other senior CID officials.
