Kakinada , June 2 (TNT):  Panchayat workers owing allegiance to CITU led AP Panchayat workers union staged dharna in front of the Valasapakala panchayat office  in Kakinada rural mandal on Tuesday demanding payment of three months  pending wages .

They raised slogans demanding three months wage arrears  and also implementation of  PF and ESI facility to them.

CITU kakinada rural mandal secretary Thottipudi Raja, Panchayat workers and employees union rural secretary Chinthapalli Ajaykumar while addressing the  workers blamed the  state government for its defective policies leading to hardships to the workers. They said the government created ` Swarna Gram Panchayat online site for making the wages of rural areas panchayat workers  online.

But non inclusion of the special option for PF and ESI in the online site, they said  the payment of wages for the workers remain  pending  for March , April and May months.

These three months pending wages should be immediately released, they demanded.

Later they called on the panchayat executive officer Satyanarayana and submitted a memorandum  in support of their demand.

They explained that panchayat workers wages were not increased  due to the implementation of yearly tender system and the workers jobs were not regularized .

They further demanded that the state government itself should pay the wages of panchayat workers first of every month and instructions should be issued to the concerned officers to implement PF and ESI to panchayat workers.

CITU leaders appealed to the Deputy Chief Minister Pawan kalyan to intervene and effect necessary changes in the  ‘ Swarna gram panchayat online site’ ensuring prompt payment of wages to the workers every month.
