Telangana CM Appeals Public to Remain Vigilant as IMD Warns of Heavy Rain, Gusty Winds
Hyderabad, May 27 (TNT) : Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday appealed to people across the State to remain cautious and vigilant following the India Meteorological Department’s warning of heavy rainfall and strong gusty winds in several districts.
The Chief Minister also alerted officials after the IMD issued an Orange Alert for parts of the State and directed the administration to intensify preparedness measures in vulnerable areas.
Revanth Reddy instructed officials to speed up paddy procurement operations at all procurement centres and ensure adequate precautionary arrangements to protect stored grain from rain damage.
He directed authorities to keep sufficient tarpaulins ready at procurement centres to prevent paddy stocks from getting wet due to heavy rains.
Officials were also asked to shift tarpaulins from centres where procurement operations had already been completed.
The Chief Minister instructed district authorities and field-level officials to closely monitor the evolving weather situation and ensure timely response measures wherever required.
He further appealed to the public to avoid unnecessary travel during adverse weather conditions and follow official advisories issued by the authorities.
