Demographic Change a Serious Concern, Says Telangana BJP Chief Ramchander Rao

Hyderabad, May 27(TNT): Welcoming the Centre’s decision to constitute a High-Level Committee on Demographic Change, Telangana State BJP President  N. Ramchander Rao stated that “unnatural demographic change” in the country was a matter of serious concern.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Telangana BJP president said he applauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for initiating the move.

He said every infiltrator would be identified and expelled in accordance with the law through the proposed mechanism.

“India’s resources belong first and foremost to the citizens of this country. Their rights, security and future must always remain our highest priority,” Ramchander Rao said.

He alleged that previous Congress governments had compromised national interests through “vote-bank politics and appeasement”, resulting in concerns among local populations in several regions.

The BJP leader said changing demographic patterns in parts of the country were a matter of deep concern and claimed that “unnatural demographic change” had adversely affected tribal communities in some areas.

Referring to Prime Minister Modi’s Independence Day address from the Red Fort on August 15, 2025, Ramchander Rao recalled that the Prime Minister had announced the creation of a “high-powered Demography Mission” to address demographic challenges.

He described the newly announced High-Level Committee as another decisive step towards safeguarding the rights, security and future of Indian citizens.

Ramchander Rao said the initiative reflected the Modi government’s commitment to protecting national interests and ensuring balanced demographic development.
