US-based Regeneron to launch GCC in Telangana , Create Hundreds of Jobs

Hyderabad, May 26 (TNT): Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, a leading US-based biotechnology company, on Tuesday announced plans to establish its Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad as part of its strategy to strengthen global operations and expand support functions across drug development, digital technologies and commercial operations.

In this regard, an MoU was also signed with the Government of Telangana in the presence of Telangana Minister for Information Technology, Industries and Commerce Duddilla Sridhar Babu.

The Centre is expected to become operational in the second half of 2026 and will create hundreds of new jobs in the coming years, the pharma company said in a release here.

The centre will support key functions including data management, statistical programming, artificial intelligence, clinical trial operations, analytics and commercial operations.

The Hyderabad facility would complement its existing operations in the United States and other global locations.

The company had earlier established its Bengaluru presence in 2022 and said the new GCC marks a significant expansion of its India operations.

Speaking on the occasion, Sridhar Babu said Hyderabad has emerged as a major global hub for life sciences, biotechnology and advanced digital innovation.

He said the state’s strengths in biotechnology, clinical research, AI, data sciences and healthcare innovation, along with initiatives such as Genome Valley and the upcoming Green Pharma City, continue to attract global investments in pharmaceuticals and advanced manufacturing.

Senior Vice President at Regeneron Bari Kowal said the GCC represents an important investment in the company’s future as it scales global operations.

“Hyderabad has established itself as a world-class hub for life sciences and technology talent, and we are proud to expand our presence there,” she said.

Executive Director of the Regeneron GCC Rajiv Onat said the centre would focus on building exceptional talent and fostering a collaborative work culture aimed at advancing scientific innovation and patient care.

Founded in the United States, Regeneron is a global biotechnology company with 15 approved or authorised medicines and nearly 50 pipeline candidates across multiple therapeutic areas. Its medicines are available in more than 100 countries.
