MoS for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay targets BRS over ‘Fake Campaign’; dismisses exit rumours
Hyderabad, May 20 (TNT): Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leadership, accusing it of running a “fake media factory” to spread rumours about his removal from the Union Cabinet and possible arrest.
Addressing BJP workers at the party’s State office here, Bandi Sanjay alleged that reports regarding his dismissal and arrest were politically motivated and aimed at maligning both him and the BJP.
He specifically targeted BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao (KTR), claiming that the BRS leadership was unable to digest the BJP’s growing political strength in Telangana.
“The news about my dismissal and arrest is a creation of KTR’s fake media factory,” he alleged, adding sarcastically that perhaps the BRS believed the Central government survived because of support from BRS MPs.
The Union Minister claimed that KTR was angry because the BJP had “shattered the strongholds” of the BRS and weakened what he described as the decade-long rule of the KCR family in Telangana politics.
He asserted that people were laughing at the “fake news” being circulated against him.
Rejecting rumours that he was planning to float a new political party, Bandi Sanjay said he would not pay attention to propaganda spread by “worthless people.”
In an emotionally charged remark aimed at energising party cadres, he said every committed BJP worker would wish for the ” saffron flag to be draped over their body’ after death and added that it was his own “final wish” as well.
The statement drew loud cheers from party workers gathered at the BJP office.
A large number of BJP activists assembled at the party headquarters in a show of solidarity with Bandi Sanjay, raising slogans in support of the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On allegations involving his son Bandi Sai Bhageerath in POCSO case, the Union Minister said the matter was before the court but maintained that he had fully cooperated with the investigation.
“When the police sought an investigation, I myself handed over my son for questioning,” he said.
Bandi Sanjay accused the BRS leadership of attempting to divert public attention through political propaganda, while asserting that the BJP continued to gain support across Telangana.
