Amit Shah Inaugurates Million Minds Tech Park, GREMI Campus in Ahmedabad
Ahmedabad, May 17 (TNT): Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah inaugurated the newly built ‘Million Minds Tech Park’ and ‘GREMI City Campus’ in Ahmedabad (Gujarat) on Sunday, describing the projects as major steps towards realising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making India a global hub for technology, innovation and high-skill industries.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi and several dignitaries were present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Shah said the projects reflect Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of promoting technology, innovation, entrepreneurship and knowledge-driven industries in Gujarat and across the country.
He said Gujarat, which has historically led India in industrial growth, is now aiming to become a leader in advanced technology sectors as well.
Highlighting Gujarat’s industrial transformation since 2002, Shah said the state has achieved global recognition in manufacturing, infrastructure, ease of doing business and entrepreneurship under the leadership of Narendra Modi.
He added that Gujarat’s development model stands apart because of strong policy support, infrastructure creation and proactive governance.
The Union Minister said the newly inaugurated Million Minds Tech Park has been developed across 13.5 lakh square feet at a cost of nearly ₹1,100 crore. In the first phase, the facility will accommodate around 9,000 highly skilled professionals.
Over seven phases, with an estimated investment of ₹15,000 crore, the project is expected to generate more than 63,000 high-value jobs over the next five years, he said.
He said the 65-acre integrated tech park includes commercial spaces, malls, hotels and residential facilities, and would help position Ahmedabad alongside major technology centres such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune and Gurugram.
Shah also inaugurated the Ganesh Real Estate Management Institute (GREMI) Campus and said the initiative would strengthen professional education and leadership in the real estate sector.
He stated that urban planning and real estate development are closely linked and emphasised the importance of planned urban growth.
According to him, the GREMI City Campus spread across 30,000 square feet will initially accommodate 300 students, while the main campus near Thol Lake will be developed over 100 acres at an estimated cost of ₹500 crore.
The Union Minister further said artificial intelligence and deep technology represent the future economy and stressed the need to create a strong ecosystem for youth working in robotics, quantum computing, semiconductors, cybersecurity, defence technology and space technology.
He expressed confidence that the two projects would significantly contribute to positioning Gujarat as a leading centre for advanced technologies and innovation.
