Telangana DGP Reviews Greyhounds Operations, Calls for Enhanced Combat Readiness

Hyderabad, May 14 (TNT): State Director General of Police (DGP) C V Anand on Thursday reviewed the operational and administrative functioning of the elite anti-insurgency force Greyhounds during a visit to its headquarters here.

During a comprehensive review meeting, the Director General of Police assessed the force’s performance in anti-Maoist operations and other assigned duties.

He also reviewed the existing training standards, curriculum and operational modules being imparted to personnel and stressed the need for continuous upgradation in line with evolving operational requirements.

Anand instructed the Greyhounds leadership to further improve operational efficiency and maintain a high level of combat readiness.

He emphasised the importance of regular firing practice and rigorous training to ensure the force remains mission-ready at all times.

The DGP also reviewed issues relating to the reduction in Greyhounds personnel strength in view of declining Maoist activities.

He informed officers that a proposal concerning 708 surrendered posts of Greyhounds was currently pending with the government and said the notified repatriations would be carried out after receiving the necessary orders.

Anand appreciated the efforts and commitment of Greyhounds personnel and stressed the need to maintain the force’s reputation as one of the country’s premier anti-insurgency units through professionalism, discipline and operational preparedness.
