Kodangal, May 8 (TNT):Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday said the state was moving rapidly on the path of development and affirmed that Telangana was being placed in a leading position with the support of the people.
Addressing a public meeting after laying foundation stones for the development of Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple and other projects in Kodangal, Revanth said he had been working nearly 18 hours a day to achieve the goals set by the “People’s Government”.
Highlighting development initiatives in his Kodangal Assembly constituency, the Chief Minister said educational institutions including a medical college, engineering college, ATC Centre, nursing college, polytechnic and Sainik School were being established in the region.
He said Kodangal would emerge as a major educational hub within the next one-and-a-half years.
Thanking the people of Kodangal for their support in helping him become Chief Minister, Revanth said the constituency would be transformed into a model region for the entire country.
He announced that an industrial park spread across 2,300 acres was being developed at Lagacherla and a major roadway linking Kodangal directly with the airport was also being constructed.
The Chief Minister said nearly 90 per cent of the Vikarabad railway line works had already been completed and construction of a cement industry would begin within the next six months to generate local employment opportunities.
Directing officials to complete all development works in Kodangal by December 2027, he appealed to local body representatives to work together beyond political differences for village development.
On irrigation projects front, the Chief Minister instructed officials to complete the Narayanpet–Kodangal Lift Irrigation Scheme within one-and-a-half years to bring Krishna river water to the region. He entrusted State Minister V. Srihari with completing land acquisition for the project within a month.
Recalling the earlier condition of Kodangal, Revanth said people previously had to travel to neighbouring Vikarabad and Pargi for education and there was little scope for agriculture due to lack of water resources.
He said roads had now been constructed connecting every thanda and gram panchayat in the constituency.
The Chief Minister also highlighted welfare initiatives being implemented by the state government, including farm loan waivers, supply of fine-quality rice, Rythu Bharosa assistance, Indiramma housing, ration cards and fee reimbursement schemes.
Referring to the spiritual significance of Kodangal, he described Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple as the “Tirupati of the Poor”, attracting devotees not only from Telangana but also from neighbouring Karnataka and Maharashtra.
Revanth said Kodangal represented a unique blend of spirituality and governance, remarking that both the “Gudi” (temple) and “Gadi” (seat of power) together were driving the region’s progress and prosperity.
