Telangana Records Sharpest Decline in Gut Health in India: Report

Hyderabad, May 8 (TNT):Telangana has recorded the sharpest decline in gut health among major regions in India between 2024 and 2025, according to a new report based on digestive health data collected from over 1.6 lakh individuals, revealed.

The report, powered by Traya Health, found that Telangana witnessed a decline of 4.10 percentage points in digestive comfort levels over the past year, the steepest drop recorded in the country.

According to the findings, Telangana’s digestive comfort index fell from 19.13 per cent in 2024 to 15.03 per cent in 2025.

The study analysed gut health trends across several major Indian states using data from 160,197 test participants.

Other states that registered notable declines included Rajasthan (-3.30 per cent), Delhi (-2.97 per cent), Madhya Pradesh (-2.30 per cent), Gujarat (-2.27 per cent), Bihar (-2.00 per cent), Uttar Pradesh (-1.81 per cent), Maharashtra (-1.80 per cent) and Tamil Nadu (-1.30 per cent).

West Bengal was the only major state among those listed to record an improvement, registering a 0.66 percentage point increase in digestive comfort levels.

The report attributed the changes to evolving lifestyle patterns, food habits, stress and other health-related factors impacting digestive wellness across regions.
